Given that you're a veteran with Type R's, I'd be interested in you test driving and sharing your thoughts on the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. As far as your channel goes, new 5 N content could really mix things up. (As opposed to you getting a second FL5, you could often compare the two brands.)

2017 model is the best in my opinion. Seems like most peeps(like myself) would agree. Very minimal disagree. I love the 19 inch wheels for sure. That's what makes it more sporty look. The 2018 rear end suck in my opinion(they look like a Malibu/Monte Carlo rear end) no good 👎 I'll stick with the 2017 H.A.S for sure and the 2.4 Liter is perfect. I've heard them 1.5T have been giving tons of issues (from other videos that I've seen).

Definitely great vehicle for the $! I am enjoying my tuned 335d as a daily vehicle. About a year ago I've noticed a super quiet tick at the back of the engine. But it would come and go. Now it is very clear tick while it is cold, and when it gets up to temp, it goes away. My driving style is so different from day to day. In general, I am 100% lawful driver, but sometimes I like to misbehave. What do you think it might be? Don't really want to pull engine out to tear it apart, but would like not to... Regular oil changes, after tune T6. Every other oil change - new fuel filter. The catch part that doesn't let me sleep well, is that at some point before this tick appeared, i was stupid enough to add CERRATEC stuff into it. Don't ask me why... :-( Any thoughts?

If money is of no concern then the Porsche is probably the better choice. If you really want involvement then the C8 is out of the question as no manual is available--don't really care that you can't shift as fast as the automatic, it's about involvement (autos are great for the wife or your mother though). I don't understand why I see so many Porsches (BMW's, Mercedes) with 30,000-40,000 miles for sale stating "new pads and rotors at 35k miles". You can drive the 'vette for 100k miles doing normal maintenance for next to nothing. As most of us only get to go to the track once every year or two, track numbers are irrelevant so comparing the apples to the oranges ($65k out the door to $110k out the door) it all comes down to how much fun you can have on a daily basis and does that car fit into my budget?

Please get iil engine oil analysis done if you see Titanium in the oil get the heads repaired before more damage. If no titanium in the oil drive it like stole it knowing it's all good. I used Black Stone Laboratories they read oil at 3 oil changes and at 22,000 miles called me. They saw titanium early at low levels. But a big jump at 22,000 rang the bell. I had the heads off at my expense invited GM warranty Rep over to see the heads. He said they look good. Then we pulled the springs off and the intake valve simply fell out of the heads. He agreed they were bad and authorized new heads and valves and labor and parts. $7,000 and saved my Z06 engine. Dennis

The c6z is a beautiful monster and your right your not gonna find a better car for 35k I rode in a 07 a few years ago omg it’s fast !!!!! This thing walks lambos viper Ferraris etc and I’ve seen some with the heads cam and intake and it’s nasty !!!! Enjoy her

you have the same interior setup with ivory/black im not a fan of the interior then again I bought mine used during the height of the pandemic in 2020 only paid $16k with 27k on the odometer. except mine has CVT. its better than nissan's crap. this car wasn't planned for me to buy. I had a incident with my 8th gen EX sedan in which my insurance declared it totaled at 177k. my timing chain ripped and oil pan busted. but now that car is in Puerto Rico. I told them to cut me a check and i''ll get something else I still have it and going strong at 110k on the odometer just do your regular maitenance and you're good to go

I should probably make my own video of why you shouldn’t own one unless your an experienced DIYer or mechanic. After owning mine 4yrs now there is a list of potentially very expensive failures that will affect all of these cars at some point.

I have been going to build a Metal Garage, but have decided to go with a more expensive Pole Barn due to the Garage doors that you mentioned and just easier to wire and insulate.

I used oil testing to detect titanium in the oil, before any damage. Pulled the heads at my cost, removed the springs and showed the GM warranty inspector the intake valves just fell out of the heads. He authorized need heads and valves under warranty. This was a GM extended warranty j had purchased. I used Blackstone Laboratories fir testing they pointed out the titanium ppm was there but low. On the next oil change 22,000 it was up a lot. I called several dealers Corvette specialist they agreed stop driving it and pull the heads. Testing the oil saved my Ron Fellows 427. Dennis

There are 2 of those little plastic grommets you speak of, the other is for cruise control. No need to bypass, they are about $5 at the Honda dealership. I went ahead and replaced both at the same time, just attaches up in the pedal area. Now I’m good for another 20 years or so👍

Before I see, this stock FL5 isn't good on a track day, I know a lot of videos on UA-cam and all Civics heated oil and the engine is weak... let me see your experience. (I think a GR Toyota Yaris or Corolla is a better one in stock mode)

I love zr2s but in 2024 they’ve become overpriced like most trucks.. the Colorado trail boss and the frontier are the last tried and true that won’t kill your wallet. If you insist on an X5, make sure you order one with the turn signal option. It helps us average income drivers know what your intentions are.

I can confirm all of that after owning a 535d and a 525d for a total of 12 years. But keep in mind that DPF delete is not legal in EU Countries. Also the AGR (forgot the american name... Exhaust oil something)? has to stay on. So... If you want to go the legal way, clean or replace those parts, when ever you feel that they impact the performance of your car. Because all the carbon that they should let out of the engine will stay inside and clog up the engine.

Here in Switzerland there are so many FL5 available for sell that I don't think they will be all sold! Some cars are more than 6 months waiting for a owner... They are not so limited as expected...

Especially interesting because these cars were being produced during the big recession years and I'm sure contributed to the lower sales figures in 2009-2013. Wasn't the number of 2013 Z06s very low like a less than a 1k?

"The LS7 engine is known to be quite reliable, even after owners push it to its limits. However, there has been one major problem that it suffered, and it has to do with its valves. General Motors released a statement that said the problem was traced back to the supplier of its cylinder heads. They managed to figure this out by studying the heads returned under warranty. The problem occurred simply because some heads weren’t machined correctly. As a result, the valve guides and valve seats weren’t concentric, and that caused major damage to the valve guides. The LS7 engine valve issue isn’t as major as the news articles online would lead you to believe. General Motors believes that only 10 percent of the Corvette Z06s are affected - that’s a total of 1300 units." So just get high quality heads with good valves and guides and you're fine.

I have owned a C7 Z06 and now I own a C8 Z51. Both great cars! My biggest complaint for the C7 Z06 is that it gets out of sorts at low speeds aka drama queen. The C7 Z06 is massively fast at higher speeds and way easier to modify. They are like comparing a blunt force object vs precision instrument. Great video!

I had purchased my 23 civic si for msrp but not with out a fight. Dealer told me if I put a deposit down of 500 that that would sell me it at msrp so I came down there and did the deposit well when my car came in they tried to tell me to buy this $4000 maintenance package since they were doing me a favor and I told them no and they said well we’re gonna have to pass up on the deal so I went and talked to the manager because they had already ran my credit I was approved and good to go I was at the point to hand in the down payment and then walk out with the keys so I talked to the gm and he honored the deal and threw in from free accessories!

They may be good bang for the buck but you need to set a side some serious $$$ to fix the heads, or it will go kaboom. High revving high lifting cam not a good combo....

thanks for this video man, i just got my civic sport, but the R is constantly popping up and getting my attention. i mostly commute, never track, i like low gas milage, i like comfort, just like you pointed out, the sport is gonna be more than enough and i should invest the 15k extra for the type R in something else. Just wished the type R looked as cool as the type R xD. have fun !
